Lets Talk Winter Hair Care

Hi guys,
Hi Beauties,
First thing, Happy Friday! Congratulations, you made it through another week of either work, school, or whatever activities you have going. You did it now enjoy your weekend! ( But first read this blog because I'm sure you will enjoy it). Now to jump into hair care. We all have our own hair styles that we roll out for different times of the year.  Whether they are elaborate or simple, we all have our routines that we pretty much follow on a daily basis.. Since we are currently in the Winter season, lets talk Winter hair care.
The winter months can be so harsh and drying to your hair if you do not take proper measures to hydrate your hair. The first thing I do is make sure that I have a fairly lightweight shampoo and Conditioner. I use Aussie Aussome Volume shampoo and conditioner ( this shampoo and conditioner give GREAT volume go buy it!). I love this shampoo and conditioner. It is perfectly light weight, so that it doesn't weigh down your hair, especially during these Winter months when you are going to need to add oils and deep conditioners to your hair to help preserve moisture and prevent dryness.
One way that I use to prevent dryness is, I take my daily conditioner and slather my dry hair in it. I usually do this at night and then sleep with my hair in a bun. When I wake up in the morning I wash it out. This is a great way to get some extra moisture into your hair. I recommend doing thisstep once a week for optimum moisture.
.

After I use this shampoo and conditioner, I like to brush out my hair, then I apply Fructis Sleek and Shine Anti-frizz Serum. This product is amazing!!!!! While my hair is still wet and after I have brushed it out, I squirt half a pump of this stuff into my hand and I run it through the ends of  my hair. On the bottle they suggest that you blow dry your hair after this however I find that it dries my hair out when I blow dry my hair after applying this serum. Therefore I just let my hair dry naturally and it leaves my hair looking healthy and shiny, but not greasy...because who wants greasy hair? (gross)

Now that basic hair care is done its time for hair maintenance. If you are one of those girls like me that loves to do their hair, then you know that it is very important that you use a heat protector. The heat protector that I am using right now is TRESemme Heat Tamer Protective Spray. There is nothing that really stands out to me about this heat protector over any other; however, it is just what I have so it is part of my routine. I like to either curl or flat iron my hair depending on my mood. ( Fun Fact- I love curling my hair! Not so fun fact- I'm usually too lazy so I have learned to ROCK a messy bun like nobody's business. ;)Who's with me?) The curling Iron I use is the Herstyler curling wand and the flat iron I use is the Herstyler ceramic flat iron. I LOVE LOVE LOVE my flat iron and curling iron!
Now for all of those times when I just don't feel like doing my hair like I'm about to walk the red carpet,(we ALL have these days), my go to hairstyle is a simple top knot bun. When I'm feeling like being fancy i'll do a sock bun (Lazy fancy that is). OR, if I am feeling super duper fancy with my laziness I will do a side braid, fishtail, or a ponytail. I never last very long in a ponytail, it usually gives me a headache. Let me know what some hair care products are that you guys like to use during the winter. Also, feel free to share some hair ideas. Whether they are laid back and cute, or styled and fabulous, all recommendations are welcome! I wish you all soft and silky hair!

Love and hugs,
Jacqueline Marie
